The Wellington Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance with damage at the airport.  On 09-29-2009, Officers were notified of damage done at the south west are of the runway.  By the tracks, it appeared that a vehicle had driven though the area doing “donuts” on and near the runway.  Unfortunately, this vehicle damaged part of the runway lights and instrument landing system.  It appeared that access to the area was gained by using the dead-end road of 40th Ave north of the COOP.  Anyone with information on this or any crime is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.  You can also TEXT your information by beginning the tip with “tip679” to CRIMES (274637).  If your information leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward and no one will ask for your name.
